Sermon:

FAITH OF THE CENTURION

text:

Luke 7:1-10

questions:

Heading 2

1. What are all the signs in the text of the Roman centurion's humility, despite his exalted social status? Why is a posture of humility essential to our seeing Christ rightly?

2. What is about Christ holding all authority in heaven and earth that is good news for broken sinners like us?

3. The Centurion saw Christ's authority for what it was, and this surprised/delighted Christ. Christ wants us to see Him like that. If someone watched you for a week, would they be able to say that you were living all of your life from that vision of Christ? Why yes or why no?

4. It took an outsider to see Christ for who He really was in this story. Why do insiders tend to miss things that outsiders don't?
