CHRIST HAS AUTHORITY TO FORGIVE SINS
1.We said that, "All of Christ's physical healings were pointing to a deeper "healing" He came to make possible." How did this come out in HIs interaction with the paralytic?
2.When has a "presenting issue" driven you to Christ, only for Him accomplish a deeper work of repentance/forgiveness in you?
3. Jesus was not bothered by the aggressive actions of the "five." What does that teach us about His response to faith? What would it look like for you/us to go hard in faith after Christ like they did?
4. Jesus said that He has the authority to forgive sins. Why would this have sounded like blasphemy to the Pharisees/scribes? Why wasn't it?
5. Jesus chose to make this provocative statement knowing that the Pharisees and scribes would be triggered. What clues are there in the text that Jesus was holy in doing this?
