1. As you read 2 Samuel 19, what surprises you about God’s work in King David’s reign?

2. What do we learn about our hearts from the chapter, including individuals mentioned as well as the dispute between Israel and Judah concerning David (v.9-15, 41-43)?

3. How does David respond to each of the people who run to him: Shimei, Mephibosheth, and Barzillai? Do you typically run right to Jesus after you sin against him?

4. When you don’t go to Christ with your sin, what are you forgetting about who Jesus is and how he wants to respond to you?

5. Read Eph 2:13-19. Christ is our peace, to those far off and those near. How would believing that change your life this week?
