Luke 21:29-36

1. What are some distractions that you need to keep an eye on in your life? Do some of these need to be put to death and do others need to be reevaluated to avoid them taking center stage?

2. What are some examples in your life where you’ve seen distraction didn’t work?

Ways distractions didn’t work might include:
Their power was limited
Their duration was short
Their charms were exhausted/depleted
Their reliability waned

3. What are some ways that you obsess or fixate on things you need to do in life when you should be trusting God and depending on him?

4. When you assess your prayer life for dealing with temptation, how is that going? What practical ideas does your group have to encourage praying in the moment of temptation?

5. Read Philippians 1:6 and 2 Timothy 4:7-8 and discuss in your group about praying for the strength to stand before Jesus, the Son of Man. What part of this is comforting? What is an aspect of this that is motivating?
