Who are the Friesens?

Paul and Virginia Friesen have been involved in Family Ministries for more than 40 years through family camps, church staff positions, speaking, consulting, and writing. In 2003, they founded Home Improvement Ministries, a non-profit organization dedicated to equipping individuals and churches to better encourage marriages and families in living out God's design for healthy relationships.

How much does the retreat cost?

Cost is $40 for all sessions for up to two people. If cost is a hindrace to your attendance, please reach out to Pastors Justin or Michael

Who is the retreat for?

This retreat is for you if you are married, think you may one day be married, or long to see the glory of God displayed in the marriages around you.

​

Can I come if I'm not married?

This retreat is also appropriate for anyone not currently married, but contemplating marriage, including those engaged, hoping to be married in the future, divorced, widowed, etc. 

​

Can I attend without my spouse?

Yes. If possible, it is most fruitful if both spouses can attend together, but it will still beneficial if only one spouse can attend. 

​

What if I can only attend one day?

Please join us for as much of the retreat as you can.

What about my kids?

We are offering childcare on Saturday in partnership with Restoration Church in Wakefield. Please register your child(ren) ahead of time and drop them off at Restoration Church, 4 Oak St, Wakefield, between 8:00-8:30 AM. Childcare is offered for children age 1-10; they will have age appropriate activites with background checked workers.

Restoration Church is less than 2 miles and a 7 minute drive from Seven Mile Road Church. 

 

For Friday evening's session, please find your own childcare. If you need help, consider reaching out to teenagers in your Gospel Community.

Is food included?

We will serve dinner on Friday evening, as well as breakfast on Saturday morning. Snacks and coffee will be available throughout Saturday's sessions.
