Sin’s Destruction
TEXT
2 Samuel 13.1-22
1. What do Tamar’s words in v. 12-13 reveal about the nature of God and his covenant calling for his people? (cf., Lev 18-19:1)
2. How does sin destroy emotions, others and relationships in this passage?
3. In what ways do you see yourself giving in to sin’s torment rather than fighting for holiness?
4. Where do you see sin destroying your emotions? How has your sin destroyed others and/or your relationships?
5.“For while we were still weak, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly.” How is that good news for you in light of what we’ve discussed and confessed? What changes need to happen as you live by the Spirit trusting these gospel truths?
As people confess their sin, please make sure to respond with good news of what Jesus has done for them.
Conclude by praying for one another to grab hold of Christ and let go of sin.
